Bruno Mathsson had been in contact with the Röhsska Museum in Gothenburg for several years. In 1936 he was given the opportunity to hold his debut exhibition with his own works at the museum. This exhibition led to his immediate breakthrough. The exhibition included a reclining chair that was named mod. 36 after the year it was launched. The reclining chair mod. 36 was modified several times over the years and is still produced today. In 1942, another reclining chair was developed, mod. 42, which, unlike mod. 36, was equipped with armrests and a bent-up footrest from the start. Mod. 42 was also subject to revision and in 1944, its final design was named Pernilla. It was then offered in various upholstery options and with or without wheels on the rear pair of legs. Reclining chair mod. Pernilla was eventually renamed Pernilla 3 so that its model name would better match its siblings Pernilla 1 and 2, the reclining armchairs with a loose footrest. Bruno Mathsson's thoughts on relaxed sitting are nowhere more clearly expressed than in his deckchairs. In all of his own homes there was a deckchair, they have been in the company's logo since the 1930s and have become synonymous with Bruno Mathsson for many people around the world.På utställningen visades bland annat en Liggstol som döptes till mod.
